![]() Though if a game is really good, then it will still get the majority of sales on Steam, even if it releases there a year later. If people really want a game, then a significant number don't seem to care which platform they need to go to. The situation is slightly different for Epic exclusives. Steam is bringing in 70-90% of the revenue, and all other platforms are fighting for the scraps, with none really standing out. Developers who sell their games on multiple platforms have said consistently that sales on EGS are very low. The observant side of me thinks that cutting off Steam isn't exactly viable right now and other developers with their own distributions wouldn't agree to EGS-exclusives and Epic would prefer EGS access to try to continue to promote themselves (as they do with their weekly free games). ![]() Someone would have to put all the statistics together to show what's what. Surprised a little bit that they're only on two distribution platforms, but there are business things always happening behind the scenes. It doesn't surprise me when PC games are simply not being released on physical media. None of the new workstations here have physical media drives. ![]() To be fair, PCs are shipping in greater numbers without CD/DVD/BRD drives and haven't shipped with floppy drives in a decade or more (probably more). ![]()
